Duration 3 minutes 59 seconds, Mean sung by Taylor Swift is in the tracklist number 6 on the album Speak Now. No need to wait too long intro, just a second after you press the play button then the soft voice which is very typical of Taylor Swift began to heave. The song opens with how someone had hurt her with his voice likened to sharp knives, making them feel powerless and like calling a voice that was not pleasant to hear (likened to fingernails scratching sound like a chalk board).

Then, the chorus began to played, Taylor looks like the middle of promise because he said that someday he would live in a big old city, became very successful people while the people who shrugged it is more than just a despicable human being.

And the best part of this song is the bridge! Lyrics on this section describes the events the next few years where people who used to like to insult Taylor worked at the bar, her words are not heard, a drunk, wild and living alone. Then the chorus is played back as if to remind us again of the promise of Taylor that he would be far more successful than those who had been insulting him. What an inspirative song it is!

The song is arguably minimalist without many instruments being played, with guitar and banjo and friction dominate the violin at the ending. Tempo is fast and without much pause, make anyone who listened would like to sing along. Shades of country and blue grass was thick, but it certainly remains Mean easy listening and radio friendly. The music is fun, not so impressed pounding and mellow. In essence, fitting really listen to the Mean in the morning to awaken the spirit, as I usually do.

As usual, there is always a hidden message in every album that was released this curly blonde. Mean song he pinned on the phrase “YOU GOT MWe Thought.” I do not know what it means. To whom this song was written, many of which estimate is for school friends who never membullynya first, but the official statement from Taylor Swift is (as quoted from the site taylorswift.com) “The song Mean is about, well, when you do what I do, which is you put yourself out there for a lot of people to say whatever they want about it, there are a million different opinions from a million different people.

Well, whoever it is referred to Taylor in the mean, surely he is sorry he ever treated the same class of superstar Swift is not good. Why you gotta be so mean?

LYRIC:
You, with your words like knives
And swords and weapons that you use against me,
You, have knocked me off my feet again,
Got me feeling like I’m nothing.
You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard
Calling me out when I’m wounded.
You, pickin’ on the weaker man.

Well you can take me down,
With just one single blow.
But you don’t know, what you don’t know,

Someday, I’ll be living in a big old city,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Someday, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Why you gotta be so mean?

You, with your switching sides,
And your walk by lies and your humiliation
You, have pointed out my flaws again,
As if I don’t already see them.
I walk with my head down,
Trying to block you out cause I’ll never impress you
I just wanna feel okay again.

I bet you got pushed around,
Somebody made you cold,
But the cycle ends right now,
You can’t lead me down that road,
You don’t know, what you don’t know

Someday, I’ll be, living in a big old city,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Someday, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Why you gotta be so mean?

And I can see you years from now in a bar,
Talking over a football game,
With that same big loud opinion but,
Nobody’s listening,
Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things,
Drunk and grumbling on about how I can’t sing.

But all you are is mean,
All you are is mean.
And a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life,
And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

But someday, I’ll be, living in a big old city,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean. Yeah,
Someday, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Why you gotta be so ?
Someday, I’ll be, living in a big old city,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean. Yeah,
Someday, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me,
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean.
Why you gotta be so mean?
